F-15 Eagle |
The F-15, whose maiden flight was in 1972, represented a logical progression from the F-4 Phantom II. An all-weather tactical fighter, the F-15 Eagle is designed to gain and maintain air superiority in aerial combat and has had a further five upgraded revisions including radar and fuel capacity improvements. The F-15 was conceived to deal with the threat of the high-speed Soviet MiG-25s in the 1960s and is now used by the Israeli, Japanese and Saudi Air Forces.
